Privacy policy
Last updated 24 September 2026.
Offerbend is a Shopify app operated by Hatch Digital (“we”). This policy explains what Offerbend collects when a merchant installs it and when shoppers visit a store that uses it, why, where it’s kept, and how to have it removed. Questions: support@gohatch.com.au.
Information from merchants
When you install Offerbend, Shopify shares the information the app needs to work, and we store:
- your store’s myshopify domain and the access token Shopify issues so the app can act on your behalf;
- your Offerbend settings, plan, and the campaigns you create: names, rules, dates, storefront badge settings and the ids of the Shopify discounts behind them;
- the ids and titles of products, collections and variants your campaigns refer to.
The “Try it” simulator reads product prices and costs from Shopify to show you profit. That is used on the spot and not stored.
Order information
To show what each campaign earned, Offerbend receives new orders from Shopify and keeps, for orders that used an Offerbend discount or belong to an A/B test: the order id, order number, total, currency, the discount titles or codes applied and their amounts, and the test group (A or B). We don’t store customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, delivery addresses or payment details.
Information about shoppers on your store
- Badges, prices and free gifts are shown by Offerbend’s theme extension using your campaigns and the shopper’s cart. A logged-in shopper’s tags are checked in their browser only against the tags your campaigns use, and are never sent to us.
- A/B tests. When a test is running, each shopper is placed in group A or B. The group is saved on their cart (so checkout gives the right offer) and in their browser for the visit. It’s kept in a cookie for up to 90 days only if the shopper has allowed tracking under the store’s consent settings.
- Visitor counts. When a test is running and a visitor has allowed analytics, the Offerbend pixel sends the store’s myshopify domain, Shopify’s anonymous browser identifier and the test group. We replace the identifier with a one-way keyed hash that differs for every test and store only that hash, the test, the group and the date first seen. We don’t collect or store names, email addresses, IP addresses, page addresses, cart contents or order details through the pixel, and the hash can’t be linked to a customer.
How we use it
Only to run Offerbend for you: creating and updating your discounts, showing offers on your storefront, measuring campaigns and A/B tests, checking your plan with Shopify, and helping when you contact support. We don’t sell data, use it for advertising, or combine it across stores.
Who else processes it
- Shopify, which runs your store, checkout and billing for Offerbend plans.
- Vercel, which hosts the app (United States).
- Supabase, which hosts the app’s database (United States, North Virginia).
- Sentry, for error reports, if enabled. Request bodies, cookies and authorisation headers are removed before a report is sent.
Because these services are in the United States, information is transferred there. Connections are encrypted and access to the database is restricted to the app.
How long we keep it, and deletion
- While Offerbend is installed, for as long as your campaigns and results need it.
- When you uninstall, the access token is deleted straight away.
- Everything else about your store is deleted when Shopify asks us to erase it, 48 hours after uninstall.
- When Shopify passes on a customer’s erasure request, we delete the order records for that customer’s orders.
Your choices
Merchants can ask for a copy of their data or for it to be deleted at any time by emailing support@gohatch.com.au. Shoppers should contact the store they shopped with, which decides how its data is used; we’ll help the store respond.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell merchants in the app.
